Nafoods Group attended the International Food Industry Fair – SIAL Paris 2022 to boost trade opportunities in the post-Covid-19 pandemic as well as make the most out of the EVFTA Agreement.

Along with 80 large import-export enterprises in Vietnam, after a period of careful preparation, Nafoods Group attended SIAL 2022. As one of 36 Vietnamese booths exhibiting at the Fair, Nafoods Group brought about the quintessence of Vietnamese agricultural products such as passion fruit, mango, papaya, soursop, etc.
SIAL is one of the largest and most prestigious international fairs in the world of food and beverage. Usually held every 2 years, this is the first time after 4 years that the Fair has reopened due to the Covid-19 pandemic. With a total area of 250,000m2, SIAL 2022 attracts about 7,000 businesses from about 109 countries around the world to attend and display their products.
SIAL Paris 2022 opens a new opportunity because there is an increasingly strong demand from large consumer markets in Europe after the Covid-19 period. At the same time for Vietnamese enterprises, unlike the previous sessions, with the EVFTA Agreement in effect for more than 2 years and the continuous successful penetration into France and Europe of Vietnam agriculture products, the number of Vietnamese enterprises attending SIAL this year is also the highest ever.
Quick update information from the Fair shows that in the first days, Nafoods Group’s booth was welcomed by many representatives of interested customers and partners, learning about the products that the delegation brought. Passion fruit and products made from passion fruit still held the most interest, which is the company’s flagship product. Moreover, Nafoods Group was honored to welcome representatives of ministries, agencies, and organizations such as Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director General of Trade Promotion Agency, Ministry of Industry and Trade; Mr. Jean-Marc Callois, Special Envoy of the Ministry of Agriculture & Food of France; Mr. Dinh Toan Thang, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam in France and so on, to come to visit and try the products. Mr. Callois assessed that French consumer trends are increasingly leaning toward food from the East and the potential for Vietnamese businesses to occupy the French and European market share is huge.

Assessing Vietnamese businesses participating in this fair, including Nafoods Group, Mr. Vu said, SIAL Fair has great prestige, gathering many leading food import-export enterprises. Therefore, it provides great opportunities for the attending Vietnamese enterprises to win contracts and orders for a whole year. Thus, the Trade Promotion Department must also carefully select Vietnamese enterprises with export capacity, product quality as well as good branding to attend the Fair.
With 27 years of experience in the agriculture field and as the leading enterprise in Vietnam in pioneering the development of agricultural value chains, Nafoods Group chooses its own direction and successfully builds the brand of GREEN – DIGITALIZED- SUSTAINABLE Agriculture. In the context of the post-Covid-19 pandemic as well as taking advantage of the advantages of the EVFTA Agreement, Nafoods Group hopes that SIAL Paris 2022 is an opportunity to meet and introduce Vietnamese agricultural products to business customers and consumers in France.
Another good news from the delegation is that the sample products are enjoyed by many French consumers, which is very encouraging and a positive sign of the potential for increased trade between France and Vietnam in the near future. Updates from the SIAL Paris 2022 will continue in future newsletters.
